A little about me...

I grew up just north of Jacksonville, FL and started private weekly classical piano lessons at age 8.  I competed in National Guild Auditions and scored straight superiors each year.  When lessons and competing became too much, as a Senior in High School I decided to discontinue lessons and focus more on accompanying myself while I sang.

I put myself through school at Florida State University with the help of scholarships and grants, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing in 2012.  For 18 months of my time in school, I was also the Lead Vocalist of The Island Spice Band, and we were the house band for The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island.  This gave me invaluable experience as a live musician that I could not have gotten anywhere else.

In November of 2014, I settled down in Jacksonville and work in Digital Marketing by day, while pursuing my musical aspirations by night.

Music is my passion, I live it and breathe it.  This translates to an audience and is unmistakeable in a performer.  The hardest thing for me to see is a musician just going through the motions, playing song after song because it is their "job".  Music is fluid and moves and changes with each artist and instrument it speaks through.  My belief is that as long as I continue to love my craft and strive to evolve and improve, then those who hear me will respond to that.

In my free time when I'm not practicing, I can be found being active in my local Chive chapter (KCCO!), playing with my rescue pup Artemis, or patronizing some of my favorite locally owned establishments in the Riverside/Avondale area.  I'm also a big crafter and love making gifts for family and friends as well as repurposing items to give them new life and use.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and of course, please reach out to me if you have any questions.
